Sanpedranoazul says:

Korean cars provide more amenities than Japanese ones, for less the money

ModeratelyLucid says:

If you had asked me 10ish years ago ‘which’ Kia or Hyundai I would own…
I’d have said “NONE (thank you very much). I now can count on one hand the
the vehicles from the brands I WOULD NOT own. Is it me? None of the Big
Three can hold a candle the expressive styling, comprehensive warranty, or
“bang-for-your-buck” models offered by Kia and Hyundai. I’m sold.

zj020 says:

Buying from used luxury brands with parts used from sister brands like
lexus, acura, and infiniti and the fact that you could get something fairly
new, like a 09 tsx with low mileage ,

Jarl Ballin' says:

Nice Review. Is this better than the Hyundai Elantra?

East17A says:

you are absolutely right 100 % .. alot of people doesn’t relies that at all
.. luxury always comes with a price special when it comes to maintenance .
i know some people who buy them and don’t use them that much .. in which
makes me wonder what’s the point ? and why are they wasting their money ?!!
is that all just to make bogus statement about them selves ?!!

TestDriveNow.com featuring Drive Time with Steve Hammes says:

You’re right. It’s really amazing how cars/trucks have grown out of their
segments over the years.

dave dunn says:

$20,000 for a sub compact? I don’t think so!

Mbaze Pashtufu says:

The Rio front is terrible.

TJC450 says:

Looks go for the sonata want value? go for the kia and idk what the buick
has going for it lol

walkthepark says:

used luxury car for 22k? good luck paying for the maintenance…

bmwmsport11 says:

Lol actually i watched to see steve AND how/what kia is doing now. i would
take a kia, but im a big toyota/chevy/bmw fan. forget the kia lol id take
this though

boy638 says:

the rear lights so similar to the Audi A6′s. Oh i forgot, Audi designer haha

northstar15 says:

OMG–22k for a Rio??? Yikes!!!

David Malinovsky says:

No, because I would buy a Kia

2012bigPerm says:

get used to crazy expensive cars…they all get expensive when you load
them up….usually a good 10k price difference for the same car with clicks
and whistles.

shafta99 says:

not bad a lot of car for the money. see if you like it then talk. not to
you steve but the haters that are sure to come.

camaroman101 says:

ill take a rio5

techdude6693 says:

This is the counterpart to the Accent. The elantra is a bigger car and is
the counterpart to the Kia Forte. Tho, I’d get this over an Elantra

chris850t says:

her name is rio and she dances on the sand! nice vid, steve

Mrchevy baja says:

it really is a good looking subcompact. perhaps best looking in the
segment, IMO.

LeadHammer says:

This is not a small car. Its wheelbase is one inch shorter than on the
first-gen Focus and one-inch longer than on a Mk3 Jetta.

Payman most says:

The only video on Rio that talks a little about the noise interior. Tnx

techdude6693 says:

No, because I actually bought 1 :)

triplexxxsatyr says:

Wow. Just five or six years ago, the SatNav/GPS system was a $4,000 option
and now it’s for less tan $2,500? Niiiiice…. Thanks for an outstanding
review, Steve. You remain the best.

awhellnaw41 says:

Actually the base price for a base Kia Rio is 13,600, it’s just that this
is the top trim and it is fully loaded and that is why it went over 20
grand.

David Malinovsky says:

The 97 Elantra was a decent car, especially the wagon version. The rest of
Hyundai/Kia back then was nothing special
